Maiti Nepal Marbella´s fifth charity gala was held on September 10th in Puerto Banus.
The gala supports Maiti Nepal, a non-profit organization that since 1993 has worked against human trafficking and to prevent sexual exploitation of women and children. The organization has saved more than 35 000 women and children, and runs an orphanage and a school in Kathmandu Nepal.
More than 200 guests attended this year’s gala, which was held under the open sky on the honorary pier in the luxury harbour of Puerto Banus. At the restaurant PiCu the guests were served dinner followed by entertainment and a charity auction. The event raised 82 000 euros. This money will fund the Theresa Academy, the school where Maiti Nepal provides education for close to 300 children.
The charity is run by Marianne Steneholm, who has lived in Marbella for over twenty years.
